	<title>Old Elven Archer</title>

I was inspired a lot by all the great elf characters out there - like in the Blizzard games or LOTR movies... They always had this sense of refinement and majesty almost. I wanted to do a character like that and also to use it as a means to improve my skills as an artist.<br />
<br />
Started off just sketching the head in zbrush. Initially I didn't know this project would become something so big - it started as just a quick sculpt. Once I had the head done - I saw the potential - so I did a quick sketch of what I wanted the rest of his body to look like and went from there. It was a very organic process.<br />
<br />
Base mesh in XSI - zbrush for sculpt, textures handpainted in Photoshop and rendered in Maya.<br />
<br />
The background is some pictures of a nature reserve in Trinidad that I stitched together and composited in...<br />

Base mesh modelled in XSI - UVs and rig in Maya - Sculpt in Zbrush, texturing in Photoshop and Zbrush using Zapplink, Shading, Lighting and rendering in Maya-mentalray.<br />

I recently had to do some new renders of this model for print in a magazine - so I decided to repost them up here. Hope you like them!<br />

I was inspired by the Godfall series of comic books... so I thought i'd try my own take on the Man of Steel with a more modern and edgy biker feel. Maybe a superbike to come... hehe!<br />

I kinda lost interest in it half way through - so I just finished it up to make the class... but I am thinking of reworking him to be a game character - more lowpoly and do some animations with him... initially I was thinking of doing him as a high res model. However as I worked on it - the more flaws I saw and the less I liked the concept - so I will convert him to a lower poly game character. Also I'm workin on a weapon for him. 	<title>Modified Car</title>

	<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://features.cgsociety.org/gallerycrits/138689/138689_1153161049_small.jpg"><br><br>Well - yet again - as a result of my school's wierd modelling policies.... an ALL NURBS car...wasn't as hard as i thought it would be - but with the given deadline and NURBS restriction - there are a couple things I would have liked done differently...<br />
Anyways - the real focus for me on this one was the texturing... which You probably can't see that well all around - but the car's whole paintjob is designed and hand painted from scratch.<br />

I'll upload some other shot when i get the chance.<br />

Time taken: 2days modelling, 1 day texturing, 2 days rigging and lighting.]]>
